DELIVERY & LOGISTICS

Logistics is one part of project delivery.

Cross-border movement connects a project’s supply plan to its destination and local implementation. The route, service providers, customs responsibilities and operating model must be confirmed for each project.

A delivery workflow to coordinate

  1. 01

    1. Define the movement

Identify origin, destination, goods, ownership, Incoterms, timing, handling needs and parties responsible for each leg.

  2. 02

    2. Prepare shipment and trade records

Coordinate commercial, transport, product and customs documentation with the exporter, importer, broker and carriers as applicable.

  3. 03

    3. Select route and providers

Assess mode, ports, consolidation, warehousing, insurance, lead times and capacity with suitable providers; service availability is not assumed.

  4. 04

    4. Manage border and delivery hand-offs

Track milestones, clarify customs and import responsibilities, and coordinate delivery to the site, warehouse or installation team.

  5. 05

    5. Support ongoing operations

Plan replenishment, returns, maintenance parts and operational records where these are part of the agreed project scope.

Project decisions to confirm

Customs and market entry

Confirm importer/exporter roles, commodity classification, origin, valuation, duties, taxes and any product controls with qualified professionals.

Handling and storage

Specify temperature, dangerous-goods, security, packaging, storage and site-delivery requirements before booking services.

Local execution

Align shipment timing with permitting, construction readiness, installation, inspection, commissioning and receiving capacity.

Service and accountability

Agree who books, insures, tracks, handles exceptions and maintains records. Carrier, broker and warehouse capabilities require direct confirmation.
